Here at Senate GP HQ, we are excited that The "break" is over, but as Sir Lewis Hamilton made clear in today’s Miami press conference, it was not a break; it was business as usual.  

When asked if he enjoyed his time off, a visibly agitated Hamilton shut down the narrative: "I haven’t had a break. I’ve been at the factory every day... progressing the car, progressing the team."

At Senate Grand Prix, we see this as the definitive turning point for the Scuderia to start garnering maximum points, podiums and race wins, to set a light the charge for the tittle to take the fight to Mercedes. 

Ferrari needs to remember that there is a generation of fans who have never seen Ferrari lift a World Championship trophy, this 35-day development window could be the "blessing in disguise" that changes everything, and not just for Ferrari, but for all the teams looking for points and podiums.

In Chinese astrology, 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse. With the fire represented by the iconic Rosso Corsa and the horse being the Prancing Horse itself, the symbolism is undeniable, and I for one would love to see Charles or Lewis secure a WDC for the scarlet red team. 

Fred Vasseur has utilised this hiatus to focus entirely on the SF-26’s energy deployment, aiming to erase the "Cylinder Boost" advantage held by Toto Wolff’s Mercedes.

With Hamilton and Charles Leclerc arriving in Miami fitter and more integrated than ever, the fight is no longer theoretical. Ferrari isn’t just looking for a podium today; they are looking to break the Mercedes stranglehold and reclaim their throne.
