The New King: Lando Norris Clinches Title in Sunset Showdown!

The final chequered flag of the season has fallen at Yas Marina, and the 2025 World Drivers' Championship has its victor! After a nail-biting, pressure-cooker of a race, Lando Norris is the new Formula 1 World Champion!

The Nerves of a Champion

Lando Norris entered the final race with a 12-point lead, knowing a podium finish would guarantee the title. He delivered exactly what was required. Despite Max Verstappen doing everything in his power—securing a commanding pole and driving an utterly flawless race to take the victory—Norris held his nerve.

The tension was immediate: Max got the clean start, but then teammate
Oscar Piastri made a brilliant, aggressive move on Lando early on to take P2. With the two title rivals split by the sister McLaren, and a charging Charles Leclerc lurking in P4, Lando faced pressure for almost the entire 58 laps.

P3 Was All He Needed

Max Verstappen took a comfortable, well-earned win (his eighth of the season). Piastri finished a superb second, securing the most race wins in the final third of the season. But P3 was all Lando Norris needed. He crossed the line to seal his maiden title by a tiny two-point margin over Max Verstappen in the final standings.

This victory is monumental. It denies Max his fifth consecutive title and ends McLaren’s drivers’ championship drought stretching back to 2008.

It took immense courage, flawless execution of strategy, and the steel of a true champion to withstand the pressure.

A massive congratulations to Lando Norris and to the entire McLaren F1 Team for securing the glorious Drivers' and Constructors' double for the first time since 1998!

And as always, when the lights go out and the drama unfolds, here at Senate Grand Prix, there is only one winner, and that's you, the race fans!
