Why the 2026 Regulations are Exactly What F1® Needed

Why the 2026 Regulations are Exactly What F1 ®  Needed I have listened, and I have listened, and I have watched the new F1 ® Era!  I have to say I am happy with what I am seeing. The debate over Formula 1 ® ’s new technical era is heating up in the paddock, but let’s be honest: these radical changes are exactly what the sport needed. While purists push back against active aerodynamics and unpredictable electrical deployment strategies, the metrics on our screens don't lie.  Overtaking is up, and the racing has been nothing short of thrilling. Killing the ' Dirty Air' Monster For years, the " dirty air " aerodynamic wake ruined close wheel-to-wheel racing.  Getting stuck behind a rival meant losing vital downforce, killing your momentum, and destroying your tyres within a handful of laps.  That modern aero war had to end to protect the soul of trackside racing, and while reliability is somewhat off, what we are seeing is very interesting. Qatar Holds the Key to the 2025 F1® Crown

Well, it’s Friday, and the excitement for the Qatar Grand Prix is palpable! This weekend is colossal; Lando Norris could potentially be crowned World Drivers' Champion, or—as we all hope—the battle will carry over to Abu Dhabi for a spectacular showdown.

The Fan Vote: Momentum Shifts Again

Every Thursday, we ask our clients to predict the winner, and the results for Qatar show an incredibly tight, three-way split, revealing where the momentum truly lies:

The most telling statistic here is the support for Oscar Piastri

If we rewind to the start of the summer, his prediction numbers would have been consistently in the high 40%+ range. The fact that he now sits at just 8% shows how fiercely competitive Formula 1 is. To achieve a WDC, you have to stay absolutely on point for the entire season.

Senate GP's Prediction: The Race vs. The Title

If this season has taught us anything, it's that the pressure to achieve a WDC is higher than ever. Mathematically, with some long shots and DNFs here and there, Max Verstappen could still come from behind and steal the title, and the Australian Oscar Piastri could equally fight back.

Based on current form, my official guess here at Senate Grand Prix is that
Lando Norris has the World Driver Championship locked down.

However, for this specific race in Qatarthe high-speed Lusail circuit will favour the other two challengers.

My Senate Grand Prix Top Four Prediction for Qatar:

  1. Max Verstappen
  2. Oscar Piastri
  3. Lando Norris
  4. Charles Leclerc

I’ve said it—I’ve given you my top four! Let's see if the unpredictable desert race lives up to the hype and settles the score, or if the drama continues.

And as always, when the lights go out and the drama unfolds, here at Senate Grand Prix, there is only one winner, and that's you, the race fans!
