Singapore Shocker: Friday Reveals Aston's Bite, McLaren's Edge, and Williams' Woes

It's now on at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, and the first day of the Singapore Grand Prix has delivered an immediate dose of high-stakes drama and surprise.

The biggest shock of the afternoon came courtesy of the veteran Fernando Alonso.

The legendary Spanish two-time Formula One world champion spectacularly topped the first practice session, demonstrating that age is truly just a number.

Chasing him were the Ferraris, with Charles Leclerc second and Lewis Hamilton fourth.

This strong showing suggests Ferrari's high-downforce package is immediately competitive, giving the Tifosi genuine hope for a pole challenge tomorrow.

All eyes, as always, were on McLaren. They finished slightly lower on the timesheets than expected, with Oscar Piastri in fifth and Lando Norris in sixth.

The session was not without its chaos. Alex Albon suffered a worrying early exit when his Williams was sidelined with a rear brake fire in the pit lane

Smoke billowed from the rear as the mechanics scrambled to extinguish the flames, a mechanical disaster that cost Albon valuable running time at a circuit where track familiarity is key.

And as always, when the lights go out and the drama unfolds, here at Senate Grand Prix, there is only one winner, and that's you, the race fans!
