Lewis Hamilton's Cryptic Comments
It will be a sad day in the world of motor sports if Sir Lewis Hamilton retires.
As of late, his frustrating time with Ferrari has been a consistent talking point.
He has not had a Grand Prix podium this year, with his only top-three finish with Ferrari so far being the sprint race win in China.
Lewis Hamilton is currently, as we understand it, working doggedly and frantically on the Ferrari SF-26 for the monumental 2026 regulation changes.
I don't want to dig up old graves, but without the controversial Michael Masi decision in Abu Dhabi, where Max won his first WDC, Lewis would already be an eight-time World Drivers' Champion.
He handled himself with incredible grace and dignity in the aftermath, as he has done throughout his career.
Personally, I want Lewis to win his eighth World Drivers' Championship.
When you see sporting legends like Stephen Hendry and Ronnie "The Rocket" O’Sullivan, both holding seven world snooker titles, you can't help but want to will these older sportsmen in a younger man's game to achieve that record-breaking eighth, as I wished to Michael Jordan to win his seventh NBA championship and still do today. These things never go away, and I am sure Lewis will regret it if he walks away.
There is something romantic about holding onto these extraordinary titles, which are once-in-a-lifetime generational talents that come into our lives, and I hope that Lewis fights for his eighth world driver's title.
