Why the 2026 Regulations are Exactly What F1® Needed

Why the 2026 Regulations are Exactly What F1 ®  Needed I have listened, and I have listened, and I have watched the new F1 ® Era!  I have to say I am happy with what I am seeing. The debate over Formula 1 ® ’s new technical era is heating up in the paddock, but let’s be honest: these radical changes are exactly what the sport needed. While purists push back against active aerodynamics and unpredictable electrical deployment strategies, the metrics on our screens don't lie.  Overtaking is up, and the racing has been nothing short of thrilling. Killing the ' Dirty Air' Monster For years, the " dirty air " aerodynamic wake ruined close wheel-to-wheel racing.  Getting stuck behind a rival meant losing vital downforce, killing your momentum, and destroying your tyres within a handful of laps.  That modern aero war had to end to protect the soul of trackside racing, and while reliability is somewhat off, what we are seeing is very interesting. A New Age o...

Why the Monaco Historic Grand Prix is Pure Magic

For us here at Senate Grand Prix, the Monaco Historic Grand Prix is, without a doubt, one of the finest motorsport events in the world.

It's not just a race; it's a living, breathing testament to Formula 1®'s rich tapestry, offering a sublime chance to witness legendary race cars from their origins in 1929 up to more recent eras, which allows you to watch cars thunder around the iconic Monte Carlo circuit.

Reliving a Bygone Era

While I wasn't old enough to witness many of these machines in their original glory, seeing Jim Clark's car race around Monaco is a personal highlight that sends shivers down my spine.

Watching James Hunt and Niki Lauda's classic machines duel, or the iconic cars of Alain Prost slicing through the streets – it's a tangible connection to a bygone era. Without the Historic Grand Prix, I would never have witnessed these cars.

What truly sets the Historic Grand Prix apart is how the entire Principality embraces it with the same fervour as the modern F1® race.

The track is set up identically, and the legendary hospitality venues like the Hotel de Paris, Hotel Hermitage, and Metropole Hotel, along with the magnificent yachts lining the harbour, all recreate that unparalleled sense of opulence and excitement.

The Monaco Historic is More Than Just a Show

The competition is fierce! You get to see these incredibly rare Ferraris, Brabham and Lotus. These truly unique machines, in all their glory.

These are cars owned by passionate enthusiasts and collectors who genuinely want to race them around Monaco, to experience just a fraction of the thrill that the original drivers felt in the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s...It's a real wonder to behold

Imagine standing trackside at the Hotel de Paris, listening as a V12 engine from the 1970s roars past you, feeling the booming noise and the visceral rumble of the engine's energy vibrate through your head and chest. It is a spectacle.

Opulence and Obsession: The Full Experience

Places like the La Garnier Suite in the Hotel de Paris offer five-star hospitality, meticulously created and served by the Michelin-starred kitchens.

Sitting there in the sun, watching these stunning historic race cars, is a truly magical experience. And "magical" is indeed the word that best describes the Historic Grand Prix for me.

The event also becomes a hub for the global automotive elite.

With famous car auctions like Sotheby's and Bonhams taking place over the weekend, these incredible vehicles aren't just flown in from America, Canada, Australia, Britain, and all over Europe to compete; the event is a premier networking opportunity.

This fantastic event is a chance to buy and sell rare cars, to connect with like-minded collectors, enthusiasts, and dealers, all while enjoying the opulent, elegant, and beautiful surroundings that are uniquely Monaco.

The true magic of this event lies in the immersive experience: walking around, or perhaps viewing from a vantage point like the midi-terrace at the Hotel Hermitage, where this location commands a panoramic view of the entire harbour, cityscape, and racetrack, all while dining and watching cars from a bygone era. But above all, the true magic lies in the people – the enthusiasts who come together to celebrate these feats of engineering, these iconic Formula 1® cars that you rarely get to see in everyday life. The dates for the event next year are: Friday, 24th, Saturday, 25th, and Sunday, 26th of April 2026. Call us for more information!
