Why the 2026 Regulations are Exactly What F1® Needed

Why the 2026 Regulations are Exactly What F1 ®  Needed I have listened, and I have listened, and I have watched the new F1 ® Era!  I have to say I am happy with what I am seeing. The debate over Formula 1 ® ’s new technical era is heating up in the paddock, but let’s be honest: these radical changes are exactly what the sport needed. While purists push back against active aerodynamics and unpredictable electrical deployment strategies, the metrics on our screens don't lie.  Overtaking is up, and the racing has been nothing short of thrilling. Killing the ' Dirty Air' Monster For years, the " dirty air " aerodynamic wake ruined close wheel-to-wheel racing.  Getting stuck behind a rival meant losing vital downforce, killing your momentum, and destroying your tyres within a handful of laps.  That modern aero war had to end to protect the soul of trackside racing, and while reliability is somewhat off, what we are seeing is very interesting. Nico Hülkenberg: The Incredible Veteran Still Going Strong

This week, our driver focus shines brightly on Nico Hülkenberg, a name often accompanied by his fitting nickname: the Incredible Hulk. And he is incredible for numerous reasons.

At the seasoned age of 37, soon to be 38, he stands as one of the veteran drivers on the Formula 1® grid, and it certainly feels like he has been a fixture in the sport for a long time.

Growing up, this German talent looked up to true motorsport legends, from the meticulous Niki Lauda to the unforgettable Michael Schumacher. To have such towering figures as your heroes must have provided immense inspiration, even if their achievements presented incredibly big shoes to fill.

Nico's journey through the junior ranks was marked by significant success.

He won the 2009 GP2 Series Championship with a massive 25-point margin and tasted victory in the Formula 3 Euro Series as part of the A1 Team Germany. Beyond his success in single-seaters, Hülkenberg demonstrated his versatility and endurance by winning the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Porsche 919 Hybrid team

This most famous gruelling race is one of the toughest challenges in motorsport, making his victory all the more impressive.

An undeniably talented driver, Nico Hülkenberg has accumulated a respectable 577 points in his Formula 1® career, spanning 232 impressive races. While he boasts three fourth-place finishes, his peak grid position was a well-deserved pole position. However, with a haul of 577 points, Nico has been a consistent point-scoring driver, which has aided his long journey.

The German driver is certainly known for his consistency and currently races for Kick Sauber. It's almost poetic that he drives for a team sporting a green livery, perfectly aligning with his "Incredible Hulk" moniker – perhaps some things are just meant to be.

Looking ahead, Kick Sauber is set to metamorphose into the Audi works team in 2026. While the future holds some uncertainties, many fervently hope that Nico Hülkenberg will remain with the team, offering his valuable experience as a veteran driver to help guide Audi in their new chapter.

Here at Senate Grand Prix, we hold a deep appreciation for the Incredible Hulk. We have all enjoyed an excellent working relationship with this F1® driver for many years and sincerely hope for many more to come.

His motorsport career has been truly remarkable, marked by victories in the junior Formula series, such as F3, and, most notably, his triumph at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans – a victory that every driver on the grid would undoubtedly cherish.

The Incredible Hulk has been a formidable asset to Formula One® for many years, and we wholeheartedly hope his presence continues for a long time to come.
