For me, that was a great race and weekend, all be it very hot and very unpredictable, under the humid Florida sun and the threat of tropical storms. 

The grid didn't just race; it told a story of a changing guard.

At Senate Grand Prix, we were trackside to witness what can only be described as an "atomic bomb" of skill dropped by the young Kimi Antonelli.

Antonelli’s Record-Breaking Reign

Kimi Antonelli is no longer just a "prodigy"—he is the benchmark. After securing his third pole position of the season, the young Italian drove a flawless race to claim victory at the International Autodrome.

• The Lead: With 100 points, Kimi now leads teammate George Russell (80 pts) in the World Drivers' Championship.

• The Record: By winning in Miami, he continues to shatter records for the youngest multi-race winner in F1® history.

McLaren’s Papaya Surge

Under the leadership of Zak Brown, McLaren has officially joined the fight at the "sharp end." Lando Norris secured a sensational Sprint Race victory, proving that the Woking-based team has successfully ironed out the early-season niggles. 

With Oscar Piastri also securing a podium in the main race (P2), the papaya-orange cars are now the primary threat to Mercedes' stranglehold.

Verstappen’s "Great Save"

For me, it was exciting throughout, and the weekend wasn't without its heart-stopping moments. Max Verstappen provided the highlight of the practice sessions, pulling off a miraculous 360-degree save after a high-speed spin that left the paddock breathless. 

While Red Bull and Alpine are on the "precipice" of podiums, the raw pace of the Mercedes and McLaren packages kept them just out of reach this time.

The Senate Verdict: A New Era of Competition

The Miami International Autodrome provided the perfect stage for James Moy’s award-winning lens to capture the intensity of the 2026 era. 

From the technical "Overpass Chicane" to the high-speed blasts around the stadium, the racing is closer, more visceral, and—most importantly—unpredictable until the final few laps.
