The Bridge Between Eras: A Historic Montreal Podium
The 2026 Canadian Grand Prix delivered an unforgettable spectacle on the track, but the true weight of the weekend hit home during the podium celebration at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Standing shoulder-to-shoulder under the Montreal sun were three men representing a staggering cross-section of motorsport history.
On one side stood Sir Lewis Hamilton, celebrating a masterful second place for Ferrari.
On the other was Max Verstappen, claiming a hard-fought third for Red Bull. Between them sat 11 World Drivers' Championship titles.
And right in the centre, lifting the winner's trophy, was a 19-year-old Italian rocket named Kimi Antonelli.
A Clash of Titans
At Senate Grand Prix, we were privileged to witness this passing of the torch firsthand. Antonelli’s fourth consecutive victory of the season didn't come easily.
The early stages featured a fierce, wheel-to-wheel dogfight with teammate George Russell. The two traded the lead with elbows firmly out, proving that Toto Wolff is willing to let his drivers race on the absolute limit.
Sadly, the battle was cut short when Russell suffered a heartbreaking power unit failure on Lap 30, triggering a DNF that completely reshuffled the front-runners.
The Lens of the Future
Reflecting trackside with legendary motorsport photographers James Moy and Davide Cartellati, there was a unanimous realisation: we were looking at the past, present, and ultimate future of Formula 1®.
Antonelli is riding a spectacular crest of a wave, extending his championship lead to a commanding 43 points over Russell. He is absorbing the pressure of the sport's greatest giants with total composure.
As the circus heads toward Europe, the 2026 season has given us a timeless image of a young prodigy conquering the old guard.
And as always, when the lights go out and the drama unfolds, here at Senate Grand Prix, there is only one winner, and that's you, the race fans!
