Monaco Historic Grand Prix 2026

The Symphony Begins: The 15th Monaco Historic Grand Prix is Underway.

Today, the silence of the Principality is broken not by the high-tech hum of modern machinery, but by the raw, unadulterated soul of motorsport history.

The 15th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique has officially kicked off, and for those of us at Senate Grand Prix, it feels like coming home.

For over 30 years, we have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with this event, watching it grow from a nostalgic gathering into a world-class titan that now rivals the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Pebble Beach. Today, Monaco isn't just a race track; it’s a living time capsule.

Monaco Historic GP F1 Car

A Global Mecca for the Rare and Remarkable

The sheer scale of this year’s event is breathtaking. The harbour is flooded with enthusiasts who have flown their prized machines trans-Atlantic just for the chance to tackle these 3.3 kilometres of hallowed asphalt.

  • The Grid: From the delicate, spindly pre-war voiturettes of the 1930s to the thundering 3-litre V12S of the 1970s, the variety is unparalleled.
  • The Legends: As you watch the cars climb toward Massenet, it’s impossible not to see the ghosts of Jim Clark, Mike Hawthorn, and Niki Lauda in every gear shift. This weekend, Scuderia Ferrari takes centre stage, celebrating a series of anniversaries that remind us why the "Prancing Horse" is the heartbeat of this sport.

The Hammer Falls: Bonhams and RM Sotheby’s

The excitement isn't limited to the track. The two most prestigious auction houses in the world have turned Monaco into a multi-million-pound showroom:

  • Bonhams (The Fairmont Hotel): Taking place today, Friday the 24th, at 14:30 CET. Highlights include the first F1 car ever raced by Graham Hill—the 1958 Lotus 16—and a potential world-record Audi Quattro A2 Group B works car.
  • RM Sotheby’s (Grimaldi Forum): Their biennial sale (April 25th) features the "Origin of a Legend"—Ayrton Senna’s first F1 car, the Toleman TG183.

The Garnier Suite, Hotel de Paris

The Senate View: Casino Square and Beyond

At Senate Grand Prix, we pride ourselves on offering the "Best Seats in the House," and today our hospitality suites are in full swing:

  • The Garnier Suite, Hotel de Paris: Our guests are currently enjoying a panoramic view of Casino Square from our first-floor balcony. To see a 1930s Bugatti drift past the Casino's front door is a sight that defines the word "spectacle."

  • The Midi Terrace, Hotel Hermitage: Offering a sweeping view of the harbour and the gruelling climb up Beau Rivage, the Midi Terrace remains the ultimate spot for those who want to feel the sheer power of the 1980s Turbo-era cars.

It is a privilege to be part of an event that treats history with such reverence. Whether you are here for the 1950s front-engined masterpieces or the ground-effect monsters of the 80s, the next three days are going to be pure magic.

And as always, when the lights go out and the drama unfolds, here at Senate Grand Prix, there is only one winner, and that's you, the race fans!
